Dear Friends,
Please call your Senators today at 202-224-3121 and urge them to oppose Harold Koh's nomination for Legal Advisor to the State Department. Koh is a radical transnationalist who believes international law should be binding on the United States.
Koh will undermine our national sovereignty. He has said that U.S. courts must look beyond national interest to the "mutual interests of all nations in a smoothly functioning international legal regime." He is committed to ratifying treaties that hand over our rights to decide the most controversial issues Americans face to an unelectable and unaccountable international body. And, on radical treaties like the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), he opposes virtually all reasonable conditions placed on the treaty, even those that the Clinton Administration supported.
Koh is ill-suited to be the Legal Advisor to the State Department because he will use international and foreign law to undermine and deprive American citizens of their rights. The Senate will vote on this nominee on the morning of Wednesday, June 24, so it's absolutely crucial that your Senator hear from you now!!!
Sincerely,
Wendy Wright
