Business Booming for Abortion Giant
By By: Marian L. Ward
June 2008
For talent and treasure, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) has no equal in the baby-killing business. And business is booming. PPFA’s budget, as stated in its 2006-2007 annual report, crested the $1 billion mark. Approximately 1/3 of this obscene budget (particularly for a group classified as non-profit) was provided by taxpayers like you and me. For the number crunchers out there, that’s over $336 million in federal, state and local government grants and contracts.
What does one do with $336 million? Well, as a project expands to fill the time allotted, so plans expand to fill the funds allotted—and Planned Parenthood is more than happy to conduct that expansion with your money.
Let’s look at a few outlets PPFA has found to spend your hard-earned cash. With the advent of the abortion provider’s mega-clinic campaign, one clinic is planned at 33,000 square feet in Massachusetts, another 50,000 square feet in Illinois and a mind-boggling 75,000 square feet for a facility in Texas. One has reason to pause at these facts or at least be suspicious of the underlying agenda.
With this new monstrosity, Planned Parenthood can soon boast the largest abortion facility in the Western Hemisphere. To be fair, the entire complex won’t be dedicated to abortions-- just one of their 6 stories. That’s about 12,500 square feet. The sheer depravity of these “mega clinics” is in stark contrast to our President’s House which weighs in at a mere 55,000 square feet.
One begins to wonder how much space was needed for the “Final Solution” during the Nazi reign in Germany. At the height of Nazi rule, the main mortuary of Auschwitz, complete with crematorium and gas chamber measured only 1,134 square feet (www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org).
Some historians have dubbed Auschwitz-Birkenau the “most notorious killing site of all time.” The website, www.auschwitz.org estimates that 1.5 million victims were killed at the camp from 1940-1945. Planned Parenthood admitted to nearly 290,000 “successful” abortions in 2006 alone, added to more than 1.4 million “emergency” birth control kits issued that same year.
Now, it may seem like extreme hyperbole to compare abortion proponents to Nazis, but that’s only true if we take the propaganda at face value. These people are providing “sexual and reproductive health care.” During the Nazi occupation of Germany, German physicians called killing hyperactive and handicapped children a “surgical operation.”
Interestingly, the Third Reich oversaw 500,000 abortions annually (according to http://www.100abortionpictures.com, a site maintained by Life Dynamics). Legalizing abortion during that time came at the request of the Berlin Chamber of Physicians, a group that “advocated abortion on demand… [for the] health of the mother-considered from all angles…” the site says.
But weren’t the Nazis the bad guys? Didn’t we defeat them in the War? And what does that have to do with the United States anyway?
Well, even before Hitler’s rise to power, eugenics and its proponents were on the rise right here in our own country. Planned Parenthood claims inception as early as 1916 in the U.S.
How could we forget Margaret Sanger, the revered mother of Planned Parenthood? In addition to being a drug- and alcohol-addicted promoter of eugenics, she was also an outspoken racist who advocated “family planning” to produce a better stock of people.
Don’t take my word for it, though. Here are some of Sanger’s own words on the subject.
"The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."
"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population…" (emphasis added)
"Birth control itself, often denounced as a violation of natural law, is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or of those who will become defectives."
But isn’t that ancient history? Surely those racist tendencies passed with Mrs. Sanger. Sadly that is not the case. Just ask Lila Rose of UCLA’s The Advocate, who has been able to bust Planned Parenthood clinics in Idaho, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, which happily accepted donations to specifically fund minority abortions.
It should be noted that, according to the Guttmacher Institute (PPFA’s research arm), African American women are 4.8 times as likely as non-Hispanic white women to have an abortion. BlackGenocide.org states that even though only 12% of the population is African American, they make up 35% of the abortions in the U.S. On top of that, 78% of Planned Parenthood’s clinics are in minority neighborhoods.
The evidence is mounting against this “non-profit,” which posted excess revenue over expenses of $112 million in 2006. They are well-funded and well-lobbied. We must speak truth to expose the darkness of this anti-life agenda. We must feel the urgency to protect the most innocent and vulnerable of our society.
Call the Capitol switchboard today (202-224-3121) and urge your Senators and Representatives to de-fund Planned Parenthood. Let them know they don’t need your tax dollars serving big-business abortion.
