Dear Friends,

The House will soon again consider the War Supplemental bill to provide emergency funding to our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. But instead of focusing on our men and women in uniform who are serving our country, Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-California) and her liberal cohorts are using them to spend billions in domestic programs and pander to their political allies like Planned Parenthood.

Liberal democrats have attached a provision onto the war supplemental to allow certain Planned Parenthood clinics and university healthcare centers to get drugs at nominal prices. If the bill passes, it may make it cheaper and easier for Planned Parenthood to distribute controversial drugs that can endanger women's health, including Plan B which can act as an abortifacient.

For the past year, Planned Parenthood has decried that college students cannot get birth control. Yet, Planned Parenthood receives over $300 million in funding from the federal, state and local governments and in 2006 for the first-time ever had over $112 million in revenue.

The funding in the war supplemental should be directed to our military to secure our country and not to line Planned Parenthood's coffers.

Please call your Representatives today at 202-225-3121 and ask them to urge the House leadership to remove the "nominal price exception provision" and to pass a war supplemental bill that provides funds solely for the emergency needs of our troops. The House should not hamper efforts to secure our nation by providing benefits to objectionable organizations like Planned Parenthood!

Sincerely,

Wendy Wright
President

P.S. Invest your economic stimulus check where it will make a difference right here in America! As the economy has slowed and energy and food costs are skyrocketing, many of the most loyal supporters of Concerned Women for America have cut back on their giving. Would you consider sharing all or a small portion of the check the IRS is sending you with us? Your gift in any amount will empower CWA to continue in its efforts to promote Biblical values in government and our culture. Your gift is tax-deductible, so you'll still benefit, too! Thanks!
