The House of Representatives is set to vote on the Paul Wellstone Mental Health and Addiction Equity Act of 2007, H. R. 1424. This bill places federal mandates on private insurance companies and employers who choose to offer mental health coverage as part of their group health plans. Under this bill, private business employers could be forced to compromise their religious or moral objections, without any conscience clause protections, to cover disorders such as exhibitionism and pedophilia.
