Dear Friends,

Yesterday's election in Massachusetts was a clear message to Washington: This health care legislation is a bad prescription that Americans do not want to be forced to swallow.

All across the country, thousands of Americans have challenged the health care legislation. We have been vocal at town hall meetings and rallies. Yet Obama, Reid, and Pelosi corralled enough votes to ignore us.

The people of Massachusetts had the opportunity to make their voices heard. In what amounted to a referendum vote against health care reform, the citizens voted to send a Republican to the Senate to be the 41st vote and break the Democrat stranglehold in the Senate.

While this is good news for all of us who oppose the government takeover of our health care system, we cannot rest on our laurels. After the vote, Pelosi still insisted, "Democrats could still make it happen. We will get the job done. I am confident of that. I have always been confident of that."

"Massachusetts has health care, and so the rest of the country would like to have that too," Pelosi said, referring to the state's health care program. "So we don't [think] a state that already has health care should determine whether the rest of the country should."

White House senior adviser David Axelrod said, "I think that it would a terrible mistake to walk away now. If we don't pass the bill, all we have is the stigma of a caricature that was put on it. That would be the worst result for everybody who has supported this bill."

Take Action now! Please call your Representative and Senators at 202-224-3121 and tell them to oppose the health care bill. This bill will never be good medicine for Americans!

Sincerely,

Penny Nance
Chief Executive Officer

Wendy Wright
President
