Dear Friend,
On Saturday night, the
Senate takes their most important vote in the complicated process to pass
Senator Harry Reid's (D-Nevada) health care bill. He needs 60 votes. Some
Senators say they will vote "yes" simply to allow the debate to continue. But
this is deceptive. In reality, it will pave the way to pass a government
takeover of health care.
Senator Reid's bill
includes:
- Funding for abortion.
- A tax for failing to have "acceptable" health care coverage.
- A new marriage tax imposed on couples who jointly make $250,000 annually.
People who "shack up" can earn up to $200,000 each before being
taxed.
The result of Reid's health
care legislation would:
- Leave 24 million without insurance.
- Cause five million Americans to lose their employer health care coverage.
- Cut Medicare by $464.6 billion.
Act Now:
Please call your Senators
now at 202-224-3121 and urge them to oppose the cloture vote on the motion to
proceed to Reid's health care bill. A vote in favor of this motion is a vote in
favor of Reid's massive government takeover of our health care
system.
It is extremely important
that you contact the following Senators if you live in their
state:
Evan Bayh
(D-Indiana)
Mark Begich (D-Alaska)
Robert Casey (D-Pennsylvania)
Kent
Conrad (D-North Dakota)
Byron Dorgan (D-North Dakota)
Mary Landrieu
(D-Louisiana)
Blanche Lincoln (D- Arkansas)
Ben Nelson
(D-Nebraska)
Mark Pryor (D-Arkansas)
Please forward to your
friends and family! We need to keep up the pressure on the Senate.
Also, Senators will be in
their states next week. Please visit your Senators' district offices to let them
know that you oppose Reid's government takeover of our health care
system.
Sincerely,

Wendy
Wright
President
