We told you recently that ObamaCare will fund abortion; however, the implications of this bill are far more insidious. Reid, Pelosi, and White House officials continue to draft their health care bill behind closed doors, blocking out even members in their own party. Despite an ABC News report in June that 89 percent of Americans are satisfied with their health care, this secret bill dramatically changes our health care system as we know it.

Now is a critical time in the health care process. Reid, Pelosi, and Obama only react when they are being scrutinized. These leaders need to know that Americans across the country do not support health care legislation that will hurt seniors!

Evidence:

President Obama says only people who will get "healthier" should get treatment - which would exclude the disabled and elderly and others who bureaucrats decide aren't worth the cost.

It could restrict resources for end-of-life care for the elderly and mandate end-of-life counseling for the elderly (such as lecturing them about the right to hasten their own deaths by refusing nutrition).

In an interview with the New York Times, Obama questioned the appropriateness of a hip replacement for his grandmother. He suggested that such decisions be made not by patients or their relatives but by a "group" of "doctors, scientists, ethicists" who are not part of "normal political channels." Put bluntly, Obama would rather have bureaucrats here in Washington decide who receives care than families who love the patient.

Who would Obama choose to make these decisions? We can look at who he has already placed in his Administration. Ezekiel Emanuel, Obama's health care advisor, advocated that health care need not go to "individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens," such as people with dementia, or "to ensure children with learning disabilities can read and learn to reason."
