 Dear Friends,

The President's budget proposal of $3.6 trillion will devastate American families. It leaves our children with massive debt, reduces family incomes, and spends your money pandering to liberal groups.

  • The President's proposed budget is generational theft, stealing from the next generation to spend frivolously and wastefully today. It puts each household in debt to the tune of $81,000.
  • While families make sacrifices to pay off credit cards and other debt, the President spends trillions of dollars that he does not have. The result is a debt you will owe of $1.0 trillion in interest alone. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that our nation's deficit will be $1.7 trillion this year and $1.1 trillion next year. This will be the largest deficit in the history of our nation. It is also the largest deficit as a share of GDP since 1945.
  • Higher taxes will result in reduced earnings by families. The CBO says that proposed changes in tax policy would reduce earnings by an estimated $2.1 trillion over the next 10 years.
  • The proposal includes a provision to expand family planning under Medicaid. This undermines parental authority by allowing children of any income level to qualify for government funded contraception without parental approval.
  • It includes $634 billion in a health care reserve fund, which is earmarked for the enactment of unspecified policies intended to "bring down costs and expand coverage." These policies will likely be a stepping stone to socialized medicine.
  • Charities will be impacted by the President's new tax policy on itemized deductions. It is estimated that non-profits will receive nearly $4 billion less next year because of a combination of Obama's new tax policies and the economic situation.
  • Your household will pay an average of $3,000 more per year because of increased energy costs as a result of the President's "Cap and Trade" policy.

Action Items:

Call your Representative and Senators at 202-224-3121 and ask them to reject this irresponsible plan to spend your money! American families make difficult decisions about where to cut costs; Congress and the President should as well.

Thank you for your prayers and action,

Wendy Wright
President
