Dear Friend,

The Senate will debate and vote on the over $400 billion Omnibus Spending bill beginning on March 2. This bill lavishes taxpayer money on abortionists and other liberal causes while eliminating school choice for inner city kids and potentially muzzling conservative and religious broadcasting.

Some of the more egregious provisions in this bill include:

  • A boondoggle for Planned Parenthood — $7 million increase for Title X Family Planning and a provision which not only allows them to receive birth control at a discounted price, but also allows them to turn around and sell it for more money.
  • $50 million for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), even though it's complicit in the Chinese government's program of coercive abortion and sterilization.
  • Continued funding for UNFPA regardless of whether it engages in coercive abortion activities.
  • The elimination of funding for school choice programs that have rescued children from dangerous and failing schools.
  • Language that allows reinstitution of the Fairness Doctrine.
  • Funding for controversial "school bullying" programs that in the past have promoted homosexual programs to children.

Please call your Senators today at 202-224-3121 and urge them to oppose the Omnibus Spending bill. Please ask your Senators to also support any amendment to restore Kemp-Kasten and to prevent funding for UNFPA or other organizations that support forced abortion policies.

Sincerely,

The Legislation Department
