Victory! Rep. Steve King's Amendment Passes!

June 15, 2006

The King amendment passed the House of Representatives by a voice vote today! This means that funds in the Transportation, Treasury and Housing and Urban Development (TTHUD) appropriations bill cannot be used for the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center's pet construction project!

As we recently told you, an anti-family earmark in H.R. 5576 was set to give $300,000 of taxpayer funds to the Los Angeles, California, Gay and Lesbian Center for construction of a multipurpose facility.

But thanks to the dedication of Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) and thanks to all those who called and wrote their representatives urging them to vote in favor of the King amendment, no funds from this appropriations bill will go toward promoting the homosexual agenda.
