UNFPA Funding Ended in House Committee

Print this
article
The public chose the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as a good place to start government funding cuts, and Rep. Renee Ellmers, R-North Carolina has made good on that suggestion, shepherding a bill through the House Foreign Affairs Committee to end $40 million dollars of U.S. taxpayer funding to the UN agency complicit in China's coercive one-child policy and the promotion of abortion worldwide. Also, Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Florida, has initiated an investigation of Planned Parenthood and its use of taxpayer dollars. Shari Rendall, CWA's Director of Legislation and Public Policy has more on these two victories, and how your action is needed to support these Representatives and insure that federal funding for abortion is ended during upcoming budget battles.
