As you know, Congress is now working on last year's spending bills because the Democrat leadership and President Obama shirked their responsibilities before the November elections!

And, what a difference a year makes. … Not only is the Republican-led House set to vote on historic cuts in federal spending, it is also restoring the principles and values Americans hold dear.

In addition to re-establishing all of our pro-life planks in the spending bills, the Republicans have eliminated $327 million in wasteful family planning programs and cut International Family Planning to FY 07 levels. The spending bill also eliminates the $55 million going to the U.N. Population Fund, which is complicit in the Chinese government's barbaric program of forced and coercive abortion and sterilization. This is crucial, since the Obama Administration has chosen to disregard the Kemp-Kasten provision against funding such organizations.

One thing that the spending bill does not do is completely Defund Planned Parenthood! However, Representative Mike Pence (R-Indiana) has an amendment that prevents Planned Parenthood Federation of America and its affiliates from receiving federal funding.

Planned Parenthood portrays itself as a provider of women's health services and has created an image of community service that is at complete variance with reality. Just in the past couple of weeks, several undercover videos from LiveAction.org were released where Planned Parenthood employees were caught on videotape aiding and abetting a "pimp" in human sex trafficking and the exploitation of underage girls. Planned Parenthood is also facing 107 criminal charges, including 23 felony charges. It is unconscionable that the nation's largest abortion provider, performing nearly 324,800 abortions according to its 2008-2009 annual report, receives $363 million of taxpayer monies.
