Our nation is in serious trouble. Our finances are in chaos. Government continues to grow while our families are suffering.
Consider this unbelievable contrast:
- According to SpendingRevolt.com, "The average federal civilian worker now earns double what private-sector workers earn" (http://www.spendingrevolt.com/issues/).
- Meanwhile, in his Strategy Memo today, Newt Gingrich reports "that in June, more food stamps were distributed by the government than ever before in American history" (http://content.eaglepub.com/?ldPgp4vpDztB02Lz6ccjuCgcqHhquSMRl).
That tells me we have a real problem. Government continues to bloat while working Americans … are no longer working. We're forced to go on food stamps!
That's simply not acceptable.
To help make a real difference on these issues that threaten our families, CWA has been participating in the SpendingRevolt.com coalition for some time now. You've seen us at bus tour stops and at town hall meetings. And now I want to invite you to the next townhall meeting in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Not to worry: you can also watch online. It's this Sunday, 10/10 at 7:00 p.m. For more information, check out the Scranton townhall banner at www.spendingrevolt.com.
Finally, if you missed our events in California (9/17) and Virginia (10/3), I've got good news. You can catch up at the links below. The California video is a short summary we put together in-house here at CWA. I urge you to take a look - you will be encouraged in these dark days.
