Dear CWA Member,

The House will vote on dangerous hate crimes legislation as early as Wednesday - please take action now to help stop this bill that would create "thought crimes."

"Hate crimes" gives preference to victims based on actual or perceived "sexual orientation" and "gender identity." This legislation would create second-class citizens and violate the 14th Amendment guarantee of equal protection for all citizens under the law.

This legislation would require the government to prioritize its resources to investigate and prosecute crimes committed against individuals based on sexual behavior or "gender identity" above crimes committed against other victims. Democrats on the Committee saw fit to vote against amendments that would also protect pregnant women, unborn children, veterans and senior citizens. Their votes clearly demonstrate that this legislation is to pander to homosexual activists and give them special rights over and above those enjoyed by all Americans.

The Committee also considered many important amendments to protect religious liberties, and each one of these was defeated along party line votes.

The House will vote on Wednesday! We need your help to defeat "hate crimes" legislation today!

Action:

1) Please call your Representative now at 202-225-3121 and urge him/her to oppose H.R. 1913.
2) Please forward this e-mail to your friends. We need as much momentum as possible.

Sincerely,

Wendy Wright
President
