Dear Friends,

Homosexual activist groups are lauding Representative John Conyers (D-Michigan) for reintroducing H.R. 1592, the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act.

This dangerous legislation grants the federal government sweeping and unprecedented power traditionally left to the states. All but four states currently have "hate crimes" legislation on the books, and this federal law is simply unnecessary. Additionally, so-called "hate crimes" were adequately prosecuted prior to state "hate crimes" laws under state criminal statutes.

Beyond that, if H.R. 1592 is implemented as we expect, then "hate speech" such as a pastor preaching against homosexuality from the pulpit could be considered a form of "intimidation." It has happened elsewhere. In Sweden, for example, Pastor Ake Green was arrested for preaching a sermon critical of homosexual sin and offering freedom in Jesus Christ. To learn more about Pastor Green, read:

Since liberals took control of Congress in 2006, homosexual activists have been chomping at the bit. They are pushing this bill as a top priority and are even seeking to expand "hate crimes" to include transgender "cross dressing."

Take Action
Please call (202) 225-3121 and urge your representative to oppose H.R. 1592.
