Dear Friends,

You must immediately tell your representative to vote NO on H.R. 3, the newly-introduced embryonic stem cell research (ESCR) bill. The House of Representatives will vote on this bill this Wednesday or Thursday. H.R. 3 is identical to the ESCR bill President Bush vetoed last Congress, but pro-abortion advocates in Congress are trying to pass this bill as one of the first items on the agenda of the 110th Congress.

Let your representative hear from you, today! Particularly if your representative is a newly-elected Congressman!

The bill already has 211 cosponsors and will be voted on in the House either this Wednesday or Thursday.

Talking Points for Your Representative:

• The government should not fund research that requires the killing of living human beings like H.R. 3 allows.
• There are many types of stem cell research that are worthwhile and that do not raise ethical objections.
• Already, humans with at least 72 different diseases and conditions have received therapeutic benefit from treatment with such "adult" stem cells.
• In contrast, embryonic stem cells have not been tested in humans for any purpose because of the dangers demonstrated in animal studies, including frequent formation of tumors.

Call your representative today and urge him or her to vote NO on H.R. 3! The Capitol Switchboard is 202-225-3121.

No matter the new makeup of the 110th Congress, your representative must know that Americans still support life!
