Dear Friends,

Liberals are busy ramming the homosexual activists' agenda through Congress right now.

The Department of Defense (DOD) Authorization that Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada) pulled off the Senate floor before the August recess is back for consideration.  And that means the unrelated "hate crimes" amendment introduced by Senators Ted Kennedy (D-Massachusetts) and Gordon Smith (R-Oregon) will also likely be back.  While "hate crimes" is completely unconnected to defense and national sovereignty, homosexual activists are using this legislation claiming "hate crimes" are acts of domestic terrorism.

Even more dangerous than "hate crimes" is the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) that the House of Representatives will probably consider next week.  ENDA will force businesses to provide special employment rights and protected minority status to individuals who define themselves based upon homosexuality and other so-called "gender identities."  Such efforts are a misguided infringement upon our constitutional rights to religious freedom.  This legislation will be used by homosexual activists as a tool to punish business owners that have moral and religious standards.

ENDA would also overturn the historical basis of protected class status by adding homosexuality and "gender identity" confusion to civil rights law.  Unlike the currently protected classes of race and age, "sexual orientation" is behavioral.

This legislation would mean for example that employees may have to endure both systematic sexual harassment and a hostile work environment by being forced to share bathroom facilities with opposite sex or transgender employees.

Please take the following actions now:

1) Call your Senators at 202-224-3121 and urge them to oppose a "hate crimes" amendment to the DOD authorization.  In a time of war, Congress' focus should be on our military needs and not extraneous items.

2) Call your Representative at 202-225-3121 and urge him to oppose ENDA.

Sincerely,

Wendy Wright
President
