Dear Friends,

Will you vote your values this election, or will you remain silent?

Exploiting recent scandals to gain political points, liberals are hoping you will be so disenchanted with Congress that you'll stay home on Election Day.

There is no doubt that politicians -- on both sides of the aisle -- should be held accountable for their actions. Reports of moral corruption among politicians are further proof of the need to vote for family values on November 7th, and there are still many important family values issues pending in Congress that need your attention.

Your first step towards helping family values issues get priority in the 110th Congress is to make it to the ballot box on Election Day.

"I pride myself in being called a liberal.
I don't consider myself a moderate."

These were the words of one prominent member of Congress just one month ago. Why would this member dare to make such a bold statement this close to Election Day? Because liberals like this member believe that conservatives have already given up the fight. Liberals are confident they will be running the 110th Congress.

If liberals are right -- if you stay home on Election Day -- here's what you can expect:

  • Taxpayer funded abortions and elimination of restrictions on abortion, including parental notice. A bill like this has already been introduced (H.R. 5151), and has 66 co-sponsors.
  • No more Supreme Court appointments. You can say goodbye to any potential Supreme Court Justice nominated by President Bush if liberals take over the Senate. The fight to confirm Justices Roberts and Alito would pale in comparison to what it would take to get a conservative Supreme Court nominee confirmed by a liberal-dominated Senate.
  • Gay marriage. Liberals will continue their push to have gay marriage legalized in all fifty states.
  • A broad-ranging liberal social agenda. Liberals have bills waiting in the wings that would give voting rights to criminals (H.R. 1300; H.R. 663), nationalize our healthcare system (H.R. 4683), and implement a bill of welfare rights that includes abortion, progressive taxation, and union membership (H.J. Res. 29-35).

This is only one small example of the legislation that will get pushed under a liberal Congress. This list doesn't even cover the family values bills that will be swept aside in the tide of a liberal House and Senate. The Child Custody Protection Act, the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act, the Ban on Human Cloning -- bills that dedicated pro-family representatives and senators have worked hard to move forward -- will never see the light of day.

So don't stay home on Election Day. Forfeiting your right to vote -- no matter how disenchanted you are -- is no way to protest moral corruption.

Remember what matters. Political scandals will come and go, but family values must move forward.

Vote family values on November 7th.

Sincerely,
